Orlaith McCaul joined Camara in September 2010. Her main function will be to Direct the African end of our operations. Orlaith has an MSC and a PhD in international development. Prior to joining Camara, Orlaith was the Chief Executive of a Medical College in Dublin, was a lecturer in Kimmage Manor and NUI Maynooth and has worked in a consultancy capacity with numerous Irish and International NGOs, Bi-Lateral and Multilateral agencies.
Farid Ali
Farid Ali is the Technical Drector for Camara Africa and is based in Mombasa, Kenya. He was amongst the first volunteers to join Camara in 2005. He is very experienced and has spent alot of time on the ground working for Camara. Farid Ali assisted in setting up the hubs in Kenya (Mombasa and Lamu), Rwanda, Lesotho, Uganda and Zambia and is responsible for bringing the level of all the Digital hubs in Africa to the same standard. Currently he is working on setting up the Tanzania and Ethiopia Hubs.
Wencke Adrian
My name is Wencke Adrian and I joined Camara as a Learning Officer in Mombasa, Kenya in January 2011. For the past 6 years, I worked as a Learning & Development Training Specialist for Xerox (Europe) Ltd. in Dublin. In that role I have been involved in developing learning frameworks and elearning solutions for employees in Europe and worldwide. In order to further develop my skills and knowledge in this field I completed an MSc in Technology and Learning in Trinity College Dublin (TCD). Prior to my studies in TCD I studied Technical Translation for English, German and Spanish.
Philip McAllister
Philip McAllister joined the Africa Services Centre in March 2011 as Fundraising Coordinator. Prior to joining Camara Philip was based in London working with International NGO Right to Sight as Project Executive, managing their projects in Malawi and South Africa. Philip is passionate about Africa and has travelled in more than 20 countries across the continent. Philip has a background in Advertising & Marketing, having worked for two major Advertising Agencies in Dublin prior to entering the Development field.
Shakeel Padamsey
Shakeel Padamsey: Shakeel joined the Camara Team in August 2010, and is currently developing and building the Management Information System for the Camara Hubs. He currently occupies the roles of Interim M&E Manager for Africa and Interim Country Director for Kenya. Prior to joining Camara, Shak was working in the Skills Funding Agency (Department of Business, Innovation and Skills) in the UK developing performance indicators for the Further Education sector. He has a BSc in Psychology and Philosophy, with his thesis in neuro-linguistics – and has a background in educational performance analysis and management.
