Zambia

Camara Zambia was established in early 2009. A Camara volunteer, Marie Doyle, was the main driving force behind the set-up, and continues to play an active role in its development. An interim manager has been appointed to help with the Hub operations. Up until this year, we had been working with the Zambian Christian Brothers organisation to deliver computers and training to local schools south of Lusaka. Camara has moved focus to the copper belt region. While we continue to engage with the Christian Brothers, more of our work is with the SMA Fathers who have larger operations in this part of Zambia. We have opened a temporary Hub in Kitwe in this area and we are in a dialogue with the Copper Belt University and the Kitwe Teacher Training College to identify a more permanent home for the Hub.
