Irish Cricketer smashes Jamie Heaslip’s Record
Ace Irish Cricketer Trent Johnston took on the ‘Camara Container Challenge’ and set a new record in packing a 40ft container with 600 computers bound for disadvantaged communities in Jamaica. Some more In-Country equipment donations
Camara’s African hubs are continuing to make progress in sourcing equipment locally. Recently Camara Rwanda received an equipment donation from DFID’s (UK Department for International Development) Rwandan Offices. They received CPU’s, servers, some laptops and scanners.

IKEA Computer Bring Day
As part of IKEA’s commitment to environmental sustainability they have asked Camara to organise a Computer Bring Day for this Sat 8th Jan at their IKEA Dublin Store. UNICEF – First In-country computer donations to Camara
Last week Camara received their first in-country donation of computers for reuse in schools. UNICEF at their offices in Mbuya, Uganda donated 31 Toshiba lap-tops to Camara’s Service Centre in Kimpala. This is a key event for Camara. Camara work-shop reopens
After a short summer break the Camara work-shop reopens on Saturdays starting this Sat. 4th Sept 2010. Opening hours remain unchanged from 11:00am to 04:00pm.

Vodafone Go Green Recycle Day – 22nd July 2010
Camara attended Vodafone’s recent Go Green Recycle Day, held at their Headquarters, Mountainview, Leopardstown. The event promoted ‘reuse and recycle’ amongst Staff with a swap book scheme for Enable Ireland, recycle your phones with the Vodafone support for the Irish Heart Foundation. PEPSICO Ireland-Latest Company to Support Camara
Companies can support Camara through offering other IT hardware apart from computers for recycling. Camara was delighted to be able to handle the disposal of 100 retired printers for PepsiCo Ireland in June.
