Private PC Recycling

Schools and colleges in Africa need access to computer technology to help improve their educational system. Instead of bringing your old machine to the local recycling centre where it will be destroyed, please consider bringing it to our workshop in the Digital Hub, 10-13 Thomas Street. There are 3 easy steps:

  1. Check what we need:
We accept all computers, 15″-17″ monitors, mice, keyboards, mobile phones, printers, inkjet cartridges though please do not give unusable/broken items as we have to pay to dispose of them. Our rule of thumb is, if it switches on, we can use it for parts or it will go to a school.
  2. Drop at a workshop:
Computers can be dropped down to our workshops during any of our opening hours, we do not provide a collection service for private donations. Camara’s opening hours can be viewed here.
  3. Cost:
There is a €20 charge for equipment dropped off. This charge is necessary as it costs Camara €50 to securely wipe the data, refurbish, clean, pack and transport a computer to a school in Africa.
