Computer Recycling FAQ

Does Camara have a collection service if we have quite a few computers to dispose of?

Camara can provide a collection service for quantities of 10 or more within the greater Dublin area. We would ask that any amounts smaller than 10 computers be dropped off at our workshop.

Is there parking for drop-offs?

Yes. For individual drop-offs, please park in car park space number 1 at the front of our building. All commercial deliveries must come around the back of the building.

Do you accept Apple (Macs) Computers?

Yes, though the minimum specifications for Macs are as follows:

  • Minimum 450 MHz (Power PC 750 (G3) processor or higher)
  • Minimum 256 RAM (Random-Access Memory)
  • Minimum 8 Gigabyte Capacity Hard Drive

Do you accept individual equipment? (e.g. a monitor on its own.)

Yes. Any computer item can be brought in, even if it is only a single keyboard or mouse. We always need spares.

Do you accept printers?

Yes, Printers must be fully operational and full of ink. We take both printers with ink ribbons and cartridges.

Do you accept 2-pin power leads?

Yes.

I have the original manuals and software disks, do you want those?

No, as Camara creates and builds its own operating system that is specifically designed for schools in Africa. We also write our own manuals.
