Monitoring and Evaluation

Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is an integral part of everything Camara does. The data we collect from teachers and students gives us a window into seeing what effect the Camara programme is having in schools, and how we need to adapt to evolving student needs. The process has given us real-time insight into what’s happening across Africa. Reports will be posted every year so keep checking for updates.

Our approach to M&E is that we’re never going to get everything right. The problems Africa faces are incredibly complex and layered, and every two steps forward is accompanied by one step backwards. We’ve put in a lot of effort into being honest with the M&E system, and encouraged teachers and students to be as critical as possible. Hopefully the information in this section will give a real insight into the nuances, challenges, failures, and successes we’ve encountered in the last five years.
